2016 ACEC Engineer of the Year Award for Paul Hirst, CEO
Paul Hirst has been heavily involved in the engineering community throughout his 42-years as a professional civil engineer.
His work has impacted communities along Wasatch Front—from Liberty Park Lake, numerous flood control and NRCS projects, and utilities along Legacy Highway to his role as Farmington City Engineer for over 20 years where he successfully led the City to plan, manage, and build infrastructure through a time of exponential growth—doubling in size from 10,000 to 20,000 residents during his tenure.
With this experience, along with extensive leadership and involvement in professional and civic groups, in 2014 Paul was appointed by the governor to the State Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors Licensing Board.
From a large pool, The American Council of Engineering Companies of Utah selected Paul as the 2016 Engineer of the Year.
