CRS provided design and construction management services for a distressed MSE wall in Kaysville Utah. The City’s 200 North bridge over the UPRR tracks was constructed using 2 stage MSE walls. Shortly after completion of the structure, several areas of the walls began to show deflection in the wall panels. CRS performed construction inspection and management for the repair project, overseeing critical construction field decisions after analyzing previously unknown factors as construction exposed hidden conditions. The CM team coordinated the required repair making daily decisions to help the city maintain budget for the project. Key issues included protecting the remaining wall while repair procedure were performed, identifying what parts of the wall to repair.
