Project Challenge
Future growth and re-development will overburden some of the City’s sewer capacity. The City needed to know which areas to address to make improvements without wasting money.
CRS Solution/Benefit
CRS worked with the City to identify pipelines within the sewer system that may be impacted by areas identified for future growth or re-development. Working with our subconsultants, we placed meters in 7 strategic manholes to evaluate flows and capacity through the system. Using this data to model potential growth densities in various areas of the City, CRS completed an analysis of future excess capacity or deficiencies to be resolved in each area. This study provides the City with vital decision making information allowing City officials to proceed with discussions with developers without risking over committing the aging sewer gravity sewer outfall system to higher population growth.
