Project Description:
CRS provided the construction management for approximately 0.5 miles of pavement reconstruction including:
- a new 12-foot –wide center lane
- single 11-foot –wide eastbound and westbound through lanes
- shoulders and left turn lanes
- new concrete curb and gutter
- parkstrip and sidewalk along both sides of 400 North
In addition Questar replaced their gas lines, West Bountiful City replaced a waterline in the roadway, and Rocky Mountain Power relocated their power lines along the roadway. Total Construction costs were $2.7 million.
- Public Involvement: CRS Team members proved to make the difference in the Public Involvement that was required with home owners and businesses along 400 N. On average the existing roadway expanded 14 feet wider than then original road. The ROW along 400 North was established many, many years ago and since the original road was narrow, homeowners extended their front yards into property that did not belong to them. Our team conducted a number of meetings, daily conversations, and in-person meetings to best educate the owners and keep complaints at bay.
- Schedule: Rocky Mountain Power, Questar and West Bountiful City all relocated utilities within the roadway. In order for our team to keep this project on schedule, we worked closely with the contractor and coordinated daily (if needed) with each entity to keep the project running smoothly.
