CRS Engineers was hired by Sandy City to review the FEMA regulatory floodplains within Sandy City and assist with updating the Sandy City floodplain ordinance and provide a floodplain development permit process. CRS reviewed the FEMA floodplains and created a prioritized list of locations where updated mapping and more accurate floodplains are needed. CRS is providing recommendations for updates to the City floodplain ordinance to incorporate the latest guidance from FEMA and provide the city with a process for floodplain development permitting that will support the City’s goals of floodplain management fund FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program.
