The ties between the University of Utah’s civil engineering department and CRS Engineers run deep. The President and CEO of CRS Engineers, Paul Hirst, P.E., was recognized in 2012 by the University of Utah’s Civil Engineering Department as a Distinguished Alumnus. CRS Engineers completed the design in 2009 for the remodel of the Meldrum Civil Engineering Building located on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. In coordination with other teams, the civil engineering professionals at CRS Engineers complimented the building expansion plans providing the: Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), site and building grading plans, storm water studies, utility location and relocation plans, drainage plans, survey for construction. Safety and timing were key elements. Located near the heart of the campus, precautions were made to protect students, faculty, and pedestrians from any potential hazards. CRS Engineers produced all necessary drawings on time and within the budgeted amount.
