CRS has been deeply involved with the Inland Port project. Several greenfield land owners within the Inland Port’s boundaries utilized CRS’ railroad expertise and relationships to assist with planning and designing 15 miles of rail infrastructure on 6,000+ acres of land. With 15-20 alternative rail alignments analyzed to assist land owners determine optimal infrastructure plans for a future railroad terminal. Design considerations include at-grade crossings, bridges, mainline connections, signaling requirements, intermodal verses manifest trains, rail yard layout, switching requirements, drainage and utility protection / relocation, and railroad approval. CRS has worked Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway, and Salt Lake Garfield and Western Railway.
